Some good news for buyers...
We talk a lot about how covid has created a low inventory of homes because of seller hesitancy, but we have not talked much about how a high buyer demand has factored into the low inventory we have in the Portland Oregon Real Estate Market.
So let’s talk about why buyer demand is just so high right now.
Living in the Portland Metro Area we are so lucky to be close to one of the world’s best wine countries, the Willamette Valley, but you don’t have to drive an hour away to try some of the best Pinots of the region. Below is a list of our favorite local wineries for you to check out.
A Real Estate Market Update for March 2021 in Portland Oregon.
We will be talking:
Home inventory, new listings, pending sales, sold homes.
Trends that could create a rise in home inventory.
News from Fannie Mae on secondary home purchases.
And much more.
Woohoo home inventory is on the rise!!
YES
But there are some things to consider.
When you talk about your dream home, often the first question’s a realtor will ask you are the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc, but your dream home has a lot more to it than that right?

Inventory of homes took another dive this month. Going down from 1 month to 0.8 months. Meaning if no new homes came on the market we would run out of homes in UNDER one month (.8 to be exact).
We are hoping that we are on the short track to a market recovery, with more and more positive vaccine news and with the weather warming up we should see a wave of sellers who may have held off in 2020 begin to list their homes in 2021.
Inventory of homes took another hit this month, with the RMLS reporting just 1 month of inventory…
As I am writing this we are amidst the global pandemic and are nearing the winter. Many are looking for ways to stay active and sane as the weather cools and the sky fills with rain.
So below I detailed my favorite hiking trails and neighborhoods to walk in.
With the unending covid crisis and financial crisis, I often still get the question "Will we see an uptick in home foreclosures?"
Okay, this month's market numbers are truly shocking. Many of us realtors were hoping for a small recovery as we headed into the fall. But this month's data put out by the RMLS, show quite the opposite.
While Portland is a thriving metropolis you don’t have to drive far to experience farm life, as the city is surrounded by many beautiful family-owned farms, many of which have pumpkin patches and other fall activities to come and experience!
Below I listed a few of our favorites.
Over the years of working in real estate, I have had a multitude of conversations with people where they share experiences, either their own or those of loved ones, with realtors that were below expectations, downright sketchy or honestly I’ve noticed times when people's expectations are too low!
So I thought it would be helpful to go over the level of service you should expect as a buyer (I can do one on selling at some point as well) by giving a rundown of the typical experience I provide.
